Participation at 21st IUPAC International Symposium on Solubility Phenomena and Related Equilibrium Processes (ISSP21)

The 21st International Symposium on Solubility Phenomena and Related Equilibrium Processes, held in Novi Sad, Serbia, brought together experts to discuss a range of topics, including aqueous solutions, biofuels, deep eutectic solvents, ionic liquids, and environmental equilibrium processes. This conference served as an essential platform for sharing advances in the understanding of solubility phenomena and their applications in fields like pharmaceuticals, environmental science, and nuclear waste management.

Our group has been actively involved in this symposium due to its significance in promoting research on equilibrium processes, particularly in complex solution chemistry. This year, Stevan Armaković delivered a lecture titled “The Role of Atomistic Calculations in Modeling Solvent Effects.” His presentation highlighted how atomistic calculations can be applied to understand solvent effects in various molecular systems, a crucial aspect in predicting solubility and interactions in complex environments.

Sanja Armaković and Andrijana Bilić were part of the local organizing committee, consisting of scientists from the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Novi Sad. This event would not have been possible without the efforts of Prof. Slobodan Gadžurić, whose dedication and leadership were instrumental in bringing this prestigious IUPAC-sponsored symposium to our university. We greatly appreciate his success in securing such an important event for the scientific community in Novi Sad.

The symposium provided a unique opportunity for us to engage with researchers working on modern topics, such as computer-assisted equilibrium calculations and solubility phenomena in pharmaceutical applications. By participating, we not only showcased our latest research but also gained valuable insights into current trends and challenges in solubility studies.
